Information about Graduation 2009

Northwestern Commencement Ceremony

Northwestern University's 151st Commencement will be held at 6 PM Friday, June 19, 2009, at Ryan Field. The ceremony will be held outdoors and is expected to last two hours.

The distribution of diplomas will take place at individual school convocations Saturday, June 20, 2009.

In the event of light rain, Friday's ceremony will remain outdoors, and guests and participants are advised to be prepared for the weather. Should there be severe weather, the ceremony may be moved indoors. Severe Weather Plan announcements will be made at the President's Reception at Norris University Center and throughout Friday afternoon on radio station WNUR 89.3 FM as well as on the Northwestern University homepage.

McCormick School of Engineering Commencement Ceremony

McCormick Convocation takes place at Welsh-Ryan Arena the day after Northwestern's Commencement. The ceremony starts at 8:30 a.m., though graduates are asked to arrive no later than 7:45 a.m. to line up. Tickets are required for guests attending this event.
