Professor Ugaz received his PhD from Northwestern in 1999 under
the guidance of Professor Wes Burghardt. After working as a postdoctoral
researcher in Professor Mark Burn's laboratory at the University
of Michigan, Victor joined the faculty at Texas A&M University
in the Department of Chemical Engineering. His current research
interests include transport and flow in microfluidic systems, microdevices
for DNA analysis, convectively driven biochemical reactions, and
materials and processes for fabrication of microfluidic devices.
During his graduate studies at Northwestern, Victor served as a
teaching apprentice for the undergraduate kinetics course with
Professor Harold Kung serving as his mentor. Victor received a
BS degree in Aerospace Engineering and Engineering Mechanics from
the University of Texas at Austin.
