Harold Kung and William Miller were elected in September 2005
as Fellows of the American Association for the Advancement of Science;
the awards were presented on February 18, 2006, in St. Louis. In
a tradition stretching back 131 years, individuals selected as
Fellows are recognized for their extraordinary achievements across
disciplines. Harold Kung, a Fellow in the field of Chemistry, is
recognized "for outstanding contributions to the field of heterogeneous
catalysis by oxides and for the discovery of new catalytic materials
and catalyst synthesis methods." Bill Miller was selected as a
Fellow in Engineering "for research and educational contributions
to cell culture engineering, cell physiology, and stem cell bioengineering
and for leadership in cell culture engineering."
