On October 11, 2005, Annelise Barron delivered the Ernest W. Thiele Lecture at the University of Notre Dame in South Bend, IN. The Thiele Lectureship was established in 1986 to honor Dr. Thiele's association with the Nortre Dame chemical and biomolecular engineering department. The Lectureship is intended to recognize ourstanding research contributions by a younger member of the chemical engineering profession. Previous lecturers include Dr. Linda J. Broadbelt of the NU ChBE department (2003). Since presenting the Thiele Lecture, Dr. Barron has also been appointed as the NIH Director's Liaison to the NIH Council of Public Representatives.
