Laura Gerety was presented with the 2007 Northwestern University
Evanston Campus Employee of the Year Award at the University’s
Staff Service Recognition Luncheon on May 1, 2007 at the Hyatt
Regency Hotel in downtown Chicago. A staff member
who goes above and beyond other employees in commitment and service
to the University can be nominated for Employee of the Year. Every
year one staff member from each campus is selected by a committee
that reviews the nominations. Staff who have been at the University
for at least three years and did not win in the previous year’s
program are eligible.
Allison Sillers won the McCormick Staff Team Appreciation and Recognition
(STAR) Award at the Winter Quarter 2007 Staff Appreciation reception
on Thursday, April 26, 2007. The McCormick STAR Leadership Award
program provides a way to recognize individuals who provide exceptional
support of the McCormick School's team effort to achieve Excellence
at all Levels. Specifically, the program is designed for
co-workers or supervisors to nominate staff members for school-wide
recognition by the dean for exceptional personal or team leadership
efforts in each quarter (fall, winter and spring) of the academic
year. A selection committee composed of senior McCormick
administrators (ineligible for selection) and staff representatives
(ineligible for selection during their period of service) will
consider nominations for each academic quarter from all departments
and recommend a finalist to the dean for selection as the McCormick
STAR Leader of the Quarter. All McCormick-payrolled
staff, full-time or part-time, exempt or non-exempt, are eligible
for nomination. Winners are announced at the quarterly staff reception.
