Alumni Profiles: Demarcus L. Hunter, Class of 2002

Demarcus Hunter Current Position: Global Commercialization Specialist SC Johnson Wax

What do you do in your current job? I work on getting new product and product changes to market. I help to coordinate the efforts of Marketing, RD&E, and Product Supply ensuring that product launches go smoothly. I keep track of project timelines ensuring all team members are on task.

What do you like best about your position? Flexibility of the job; every effort is a team effort; since our products are launched usually in 6mos or less, there exists the opportunity to make huge wins in the short run.

What is your favorite NU memory? Having to sleep in the Chem E lab because a Design project was due.

Advice to current students? Not everyone ends up working in a lab or in a manufacturing facility. Chemical engineers work in many varying roles.
